New Customs Forms Guidelines

Update 09:17 THU 13 AUG

The new customs form PS Form 2976-R implementation has been put on hold until further notice. USPS discovered an issue with the Customs Form Online (CFO) Barcoded Receipt process and will not be able to have a solution in place by 13 AUG 2020. Currently there is not a firm date as to when this issue will be resolved. Therefore, handwritten customs forms will be accepted until further notice.

Beginning Aug 13, 2020, customs forms must be electronically generated for all military post offices, including those throughout the Pacific, to comply with recent United States Postal Service (USPS) and Customs and Border Patrol policy changes.

Customers mailing packages from the Osan Post Office must use

Option 1.Click-n-Ship account
Option 2.USPS Customs Form Online (CFOL) tool to create electronic customs forms or
Option 3. PS Form 2976-R Customs Declaration and Dispatch Note Worksheet.

Options 1 & 2 are PREFERREDand require customers to enter the weight and dimensions of their packages and select a mail class. The customer will require access to a printer to print the advanced electronic data generated customs form. Option 3 is the LEAST PREFERRED & MOST TIME CONSUMING. A postal kiosk has been installed with a step by step guide in the postal finance lobby w/ printer capabilities for those patrons unable to print at home.

Click-N-Ship will calculate the postage amount, accept payment and generate a combined customs/postage label for customers to attach to package.

The Customs Form Online (CFOL) tool only creates customs forms and does not accept payment for postage. Both options are preferred and require customers to take packages and the printed customs form to the retail counter at the Osan Post Office.

We ask for your patience and understanding as postal clerks and customers become educated and familiar with these new procedures.
